You’ve sent your royal request to have your little girl’s favorite princess visit on her special day! Now what? Well, we’ll take care of everything on our end so you don’t have to worry about the entertainment! There are some things you will have to start thinking about soon after reserving your princess, so we’ve put together some helpful tips!

How to Prepare For Your Princess Party

Complete Your Questionnaire

We want your party to be as magical and wonderful as possible. In order to make that happen, we need a little information from you! We’ll send you a questionnaire shortly after you reserve your date, and you can begin filling it out as soon as you’ve nailed down some of the details of your event. You’ll need to let us know when and where to send your princess, among other pertinent details, as well as any extra information you’d like us to know about your child or your party. Having all of this information in one place is super helpful for us and it will help ensure that your party is absolutely perfect!

Prepare Your Invitations

Can you imagine how difficult it would be to prepare to send your child to someone else’s birthday party if they didn’t send out invitations? How would you know where to drop off your child, what time the party begins, or even what day of the week it is? Save your guests from disaster by making sure you send out thorough, informative invitations with plenty of time before the event. The great thing about this digital age we live in is that it’s so easy to keep your guests informed! You can send out email invitations quickly and easily without spending very much (or any!) money. If you want to stick with traditional snail mail invites, you can buy packs of basic invitations from any party supply store, order a batch of customized creations from an Etsy shop, or go the good old handmade route!

Design Your Event Space

There’s no rule that says you have to go overboard decorating for your princess party, but trust us when we say it sure does make for an enchanting event! Your little girl will feel like she’s in her own personal fairytale when she sees how beautifully you’ve decorated just for her big day. When you use your princess guest as inspiration, you’ll find plenty of decorating ideas that will put an extra sparkle of magic into your party. Each princess has her own signature color palette that will look lovely throughout your decor. If Merida is on her way, greens and browns will set the scene, and blue and white is perfect for Elsa or Cinderella. Start with the basics like balloons, streamers, and confetti, and then see where your inspiration takes you!

Plan Your Cake

Parents expect their kids to come home hopped-up on sugar, so make sure you deliver with a delicious and beautiful princess party cake! You have so many options when it comes to picking out a cake that you really can’t go wrong. You can bake it yourself or enlist the help of a skilled baker, but make sure to leave yourself plenty of time either way. You may need to do a practice run if you’re creating your cake yourself! Using your princess visitor as inspiration will help you figure out what shape you’d like the cake to be, what colors you’d like to make the frosting, and what kind of decorations you’d like to have on top. Remember, your cake will get photographed, so having it match your party decor will make for some Pinterest-worthy snapshots!

Decide Party Favors

It’s always nice for a child to walk out of a party where they just had a fantastic time with a small treat to take home as something to help them remember the day. The great thing about party favors is that you don’t have to do a lot to make them special for the kids, because kids are delighted to receive just about anything! Common party favors for princess parties are wands, tiaras, and costume jewelry. You can also hand out stickers, candy, or activity books if you want to keep your favors more traditional.

Remind Your Guests About the Princess

It’s always a great idea to make sure your guests are aware that a princess is visiting. Some children might need extra encouragement to interact with the princess, so if their parents can prepare them ahead of time, it will help smooth over any nerves. It can also be a cue for the other parents to have their kids dress up in their fairytale best!
